Sunday Shawl

Alia Bland aka The Little Bee’s Sunday Shawl pattern has been on my to-do list for ages and I’m so pleased I finally got round to making it this spring.

I decided to use Stylecraft Special DK for this one, mostly because I had lots of gorgeous colours in my stash already.  I chose silver as my main colour and then did a border of all my favourites: rose, denim, mustard, fuchsia purple, storm blue, violet and meadow.  I used a 5.5mm hook.

It was such a quick make and only took me a few evenings to complete.  I loved how the border included lots of different crochet techniques, perfect for beginners wanting to expand their repertoire.

It’s really warm and cosy and perfect for these chilly May evenings when my hubby won’t let me turn the heating on!

That border is fantastic! I love all the cheerful colors you used and the texture with all of those stitch techniques really make this shawl special! 🙂
