Autumn is here

Despite all my wishes for an Indian summer, it looks like autumn is set in here in the UK.  It’s only the first week of September and I’m craving warming bowls of soup.  We’ve even had the heating on this morning!

A few weeks ago I had a play at making some crochet pumpkins using a free pattern.  I used three different yarns to make three slightly different sized gourds in three autumnal colours.  The orange pumpkin is made with Patons DK Smoothie, the cream with a speckled DK yarn I had hiding in my stash, and the gold with Cascade 220. They range from 9cm to 10cm in diameter and look cute in a group of three, maybe as a table decoration or Halloween gift.
