One year on

Little W turned one today. I don’t know where the time has gone! The last year has been stressful and exhausting for many reasons, but he has been my sunshine throughout. Happy birthday to my happy little chap xxx

Treats from Toft

I first found out about Toft at a craft show at the NEC in the spring and I fell in love with their little crochet animals. So I dragged Hubbie along to meet the alpacas at Toft Farm on my birthday at the end of June. I definitely recommend a visit if you’re nearby. The…

There are plenty more fish in the sea…

…but not as cute as my two crochet tropical fish! I made these little guys in a couple of evenings using a pattern from Lan-Anh Bui and Josephine Wan’s book, ‘Amigurumi’, and my favourite Patons Smoothie DK yarn. Best of all they are now for sale on my Folksy shop!

Granny square cross blanket

My cousin was staying with us over the weekend and she loved my happy granny stripe blanket. She is 21 in October so I’m going to make her a blanket as a special heirloom present. I’ve had this one by Muita Ihania pinned on Pinterest for ages and I think it’s the perfect mix of…

Friends in a heat wave

I’ve had a great couple of days. I sold my first button bunny on Thursday and I took the boys to meet my best friend, who now lives in Australia, in Oxford yesterday. We had a good walk around and I found out all of her plans for her South African vineyard wedding next April….

Bunnies for sale!

After a weekend of feeling absolutely pants, I have finally kept the nausea at bay long enough to get some decent photos of my little colony of button bunnies and get them up on my Folksy shop. Fingers crossed someone loves them as much as I do!

Best laid plans

We had a lovely weekend planned – lunch with friends and Gruffalo hunting – but instead I’m now curled up on the sofa with my happy granny stripe blanket watching Amazing Wedding Cakes while the boys snooze, all thanks to a hefty bout of food poisoning. So. Not. Fun. To make things worse, hubbie has…

Happy granny stripe blanket

Inspired by Lucy at Attic24, I recently finished my lovely granny stripe blanket using the bargainous Stylecraft Special DK Colour Pack from Deramores.  I loved making every row of this happy, cheerful blanket and it brightens up our dull cream sofa no end.  It also covers up the many dubious marks and stains my boys have…

Pretty little bunny

This is a really quick post while the boys are snoozing to show off my most recent bunny, made for the daughter of a work colleague. I think she’s the best one yet!

Quilts and SewBrum

We’ve had a busy weekend with the boys but lots of fresh air and running around. I’m cracking on with my little bunnies and hope to have them up for sale on my Folksy page by the end of the week, exciting! Crochet is my main craft but I also love a bit of simple…

The bunnies are coming

It is my third week being back at work after maternity leave with my second baby and I’m so completely exhausted.  Sitting down all day is definitely more tiring than running around with my little ones!  But at least at work I can drink a hot cup of tea, go to the loo on my…
